It was well deserved! Virtue's Last Reward was a FANTASTIC game! Sure it had a little flaw here and there, but the overall game was fantastic and the story was a great ride! It'll leave you hungering for Volume 3!

But before you go out and get Virtue's Last Reward, I HIGHLY recommend you play 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors first. It's the first game in the series and is just as good, if not better, than Virtue's Last Reward.

If you have DS or a 3DS, get 999, and then Virtue's Last Reward (if you have a 3DS or Vita). If you don't mind reading, you won't regret it.
