I just got a POS refurb back from Microsoft that's grimy and looks like it has had pop spilled on it in the past (brown goo in crevices, nowhere else) because they didn't think I could wait another week to get the console that I paid for and treated like gold for the 8 months til it lit up red...
Anyway, the new one won't let me play my Arcade games off my old hard drive. I connected my hard drive and go to play them and it tells me I can play the trial versions, but not the full game. I have 9 arcade games, and I'm certainly not paying good money for them again as I already paid through the nose for them, and wondered if any of you have any insight?
Another oddity. My gamertag shows I have all the COG achievements in Gears, yet when I play gears, it says I've only collected one. It also says I haven't beat the game, aside from the first half of Act 1 on casual, so I can't go through any of my favorite levels.
Third, I can't connect to Live because it says my DNS settings are wrong somehow, yet it connected before no problem, and my PC still works perfectly on the connection.
Also, something I just noticed, I popped in Gears and Halo 3 and have the 360 running 1080p to the TV (46" Sony V3000 Bravia that accepts 1080p over component), and if I put the wide-mode to "normal" (ie, shows whats coming in) it only displays a square thats about a third the size of the screen. With Halo it fills a regular 4:3 ratio on the TV and I have to set it to "full" to stretch it out. Is this normal? If the TV is accepting real 1080p it should fit the screen perfectly on "normal" mode... I'm kind of irritated by this.
