[QUOTE="JoshChambers"]if other people are using the internet while your playing on live it uses up your bandwith which causes you to lag. LivingReceiver

man are you sure? if thats the case I wont be able to play live for a LOOONG time. that or I start paying for my own connection.... *SIGHS*

That's definitely true. If you are on wireless, not only does that hurt you further, but the more wireless connections in the area the worst it gets.

It doesn't matter. As soon as yours gets there, they ship out a refurb as soon as someone else's is finished being fixed. The longer it takes to fix yours, the later it will be put in the "ready to roll" pile to get shipped to someone elses house.

Yeah the bad thing is you are almost guaranteed a refurb, and if it's like the one I got back, you won't be happy :(.

OK I bought a PS3 around August 2007 when I saw the Price-Drop of $549 and that you can get 5 FREE Blu-Ray movies from a site called www.BluRaySavings.com (Canada & US) But, it has been about 1 month since I sent in the mail and have not received my free movies, yet. There is no way for me to contact them except for sending in another mail which may or may not get back with a response. And now on their site they changed the date of which PS3s are accepted to receive this offer. When I bought mine it said end of September and now it says end of October. I was wondering if anyone in general or specifically people from Canada have used this offer and received their movies yet.ISuperGamerI
Settle down crazy. You are still getting free movies bud, if you read at AVS forum, lots of people experience a huge delay. The main thing is you are getting free movies, so I would chill out. I'm not worried about when I get mine, I have other movies to enjoy in the mean time.

Thanks for the replies everyone. MS will be getting an email, the Arcade game thing especially is unacceptable.

Unmach, I did keep my old HDD, I will fiddle with some network settings though. I will be phoning and emailing MS to let them know how disappointed I am in their customer service. In my opinion they should either send our old ones back, or if they can't repair the old one, ship us a new one. Some people take great care of their things, and others don't really give a crap. I'm one of their former, and I've received a 360 that was previously owned by the latter.

No they only show as trial because they are set to youre old Xbox. basicly when you downloaded them it got a code or something like that from youre old Xbox. so basicly they wont work on any other Xbox. but if you call up microsoft they may be able to help. hofuldig
If this is true I will *not* be a happy camper. Those games were like a hundred bucks...

I thought that might be the Arcade game problem. Thanks for the insight :). I'm thinking the gears thing might be because of the Live thing as well. It only lets me start as far as my room-mate and I play to today, and my room-mate picked up a single COG tag...

Are you talking about games made by nintendo or on a nintendo console? Because a few thirs party games are really hard.Death_Razor
Mainly due to pathetic controls.

Anyway, I remember Zelda: Link to the Past. The Turtle Rock dungeon was a prime example of me saving, making sure I had a blue potion, a red potion, and 2 green potions, full ammo, and max hearts before I fought. Haven' t had to take those measures in a Zelda game in a long time.

I just got a POS refurb back from Microsoft that's grimy and looks like it has had pop spilled on it in the past (brown goo in crevices, nowhere else) because they didn't think I could wait another week to get the console that I paid for and treated like gold for the 8 months til it lit up red...

Anyway, the new one won't let me play my Arcade games off my old hard drive. I connected my hard drive and go to play them and it tells me I can play the trial versions, but not the full game. I have 9 arcade games, and I'm certainly not paying good money for them again as I already paid through the nose for them, and wondered if any of you have any insight?

Another oddity. My gamertag shows I have all the COG achievements in Gears, yet when I play gears, it says I've only collected one. It also says I haven't beat the game, aside from the first half of Act 1 on casual, so I can't go through any of my favorite levels.

Third, I can't connect to Live because it says my DNS settings are wrong somehow, yet it connected before no problem, and my PC still works perfectly on the connection.

Also, something I just noticed, I popped in Gears and Halo 3 and have the 360 running 1080p to the TV (46" Sony V3000 Bravia that accepts 1080p over component), and if I put the wide-mode to "normal" (ie, shows whats coming in) it only displays a square thats about a third the size of the screen. With Halo it fills a regular 4:3 ratio on the TV and I have to set it to "full" to stretch it out. Is this normal? If the TV is accepting real 1080p it should fit the screen perfectly on "normal" mode... I'm kind of irritated by this.

Blu-Ray and HD-DVD have BOTH failed, because DVD is not going anywhere.

Deal with it.Netherscourge

Your brain failed genius. DVD didn't overtake VHS in a year. Tons of video stores have only recently sold off their last VHS tapes and you can still find them around. DVD is on it's way out. Deal with it.
