If your computer runs, you've got a BIOS.  I don't know what "Wolf" is, but I'd personally be extremely distrustful of any program that asks for direct access to the BIOS.

Considering some of the games in my backlog can't really be "completed," I'd be pretty screwed.

My experience with her (admittedly somewhat limited) was that she had quite the attitude when she felt the need to intervene in OT. I didn't see her interact much beyond that so I was never overly fond of her, but apparently she unbanned Pirate700 so she is a bit redeemed in my eyes.

It's not really surprising that she didn't post much.  She was incredibly busy behind the scenes.

I'm reminded of a line from The Last Samurai:

"In spring the snows will melt and the passes will open.  Until that time, you are here."

If you choose to do nothing with your life because that's your wish, fine.  If that's not your wish, you do something.  It really doesn't matter.  I personally prefer to seek out things which bring me personal satisfaction and engage in them.  I don't really care whether or not they make a mark on society.  And yes, humans do a lot of awful things to each other, but that is not something you can control, beyond treating those with whom YOU interact in a way you would wish to be treated.

My philosophy towards this is simple - live your life in a way that makes you happy, so long as it does not harm someone else.  You're here one way or another, so you may as well make the most of it.

Meh, I majored in music and am doing just fine for myself, as are most of the people who graduated with me.  Ultimately, it's what you do with the education after you get out that matters, and contrary to what the uninformed stereotypers would have you believe, you aren't doomed to a career in the food service industry if you study the arts.  You may not end up working in exactly the area from which you graduated, but if you pursued the arts, it's unlikely you were doing so just for the money.  If you were, then you were in the wrong field.

For the record, people in my field could not maintain professional standards of performance if they relegated their pursuits to hobby status.  I've heard plenty of good amateur players in my time, but they're no match for professional cIassical performers, because they can't commit to more than an hour or two of practice per day.  The same holds true for most arts.

I can't agree.  I'm with one.

His views are perfectly accurate and not the least bit new.  However, I would rather see employers pay their workers more (much more, actually) rather than raising taxes.  Pay the money directly to the people who help the company fluorish, and distribute it more equitably amongst the lowest and highest pay scales.  Right now, wages are skewed far too much towards management positions, and there are rich rewards even for failure in upper management positions.  That's playing a very significant role in the problems the American economy is currently experiencing.  We need to give the power to spend back to the people.  There's no point in producing innovative products few can afford to buy.

I majored in music, and did indeed get a job in music.

I don't enjoy much of it, but there are examples of extremely beautiful music composed in this vein.  Part's Spiegel Im Spiegel comes to mind.
