I personally think FFiii is fast paced. Compared to the later series it seems like there's barely any errands to complete (like delivering things or problem solving) and little screts to discover. You'll mostly be leveling up, conquering dungeons and do very minimal travelling in between.
It's not a bad RPG to start out with... it's a challenging one, and the sprinkle of personality is a nice touch but just like the rest say; FFvi is far superior in general.
If it helps, here's a video review of it: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/15239.html
Wireless routers for your internet connection is actually the same price ($29.99 CDN) as the USB adapter now. If I were you I'd just get a wireless router.
It's a shame you have to sell your consoles to purchase others. I'd say just save up and keep whatever you have instead of trading them in.
You have a console at home already. Do you plan on playing a hand-held console while commuting? Otherwise, just save the money and purchase desired games for your 360.
The DS is a great purchase, if you make use of it.
How much of a price cut are you thinking of? Up here in the north DS' were $149 SRP but recently Wal-Mart marked their DS prices down to $139.99, and soon after Best Buy + Future Shop followed the same pricing.
The 3 best deals you can find now are either when they go on sale (Loblaws at $119), bundles (Braing Age 2 + Crimson DS + Monster Trucks DS) or eBay.
