There are a lot of people out there that think that as well, but I have to say that GTA IV's story was unlike any other sandbox game. Lost and the Damned has only done it one better.

I have always loved Grand Theft Auto games, since the original came out on PS1. When I was in high school I got my Dad to go out and buy Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for me at Walmart the day it came out (Yes I was in high school so I had no options). When I got the game I must say I was a bit disappointed. The lighting was horrible and it was hard to see everything on the screen. Additionally, the game just had too much going on. I also believe that the map was almost bigger than Grand Theft Auto IV's map. With no taxi warp it can make going across map nearly impossible. So what did Rockstar learn? Don't reinvent the wheel, and fans of series are ready for some realism.
