He explains that the brain-onchip project integrates biomedical and electrical engineering fields.

Article content With an intelligence of 145, the Belgian boy is set to become the world's smallest university graduate when he completes an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering at Eindhoven's University of Technology next month.

After graduating from high school in about a year, Laurent - born in Belgium but now living in the Netherlands - started at university and is expected to complete the three-year bachelor's degree in just nine months.
"Every professor is extremely enthusiastic about having Laurent and for us, it's a special situation since he's our youngest student we've ever had," said program director Sjoerd Hulshof.

The youngest person in the world to graduate from college is American Michael Kearney, who achieved the feat in June 1994 at the age of 10 years, 4 months, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
When he's not at the university, Laurent says he walks the dog, plays video games such as Minecraft and Fortnite or posts photos on Instagram.
Nikola Tesla, the Serbian-American inventor inspired him to study artificial organs and eventually create an entire artificial body in his laboratory. He explained that his parents were heart patients.
Offers are flooding into universities all over the world , and Laurent's parents are helping him evaluate the possibilities and the U.S. west coast currently a favorite destination.
Alexander his father isn't able predict Laurent's fate , as Laurent has exceeded expectations so far, but he stressed that there was no need to hurry.
