all 4780x2 have 2 gigs or ram.... 1gb or 512mb.... no such thing. your thinking of the 4780 not the 4870x2 used in the test.

ok, i think you have a super 8500gt then if you run everything on high at that res. my sli 8800gts setup have problems with everything on high with those games. but then again when i say problems i mean perfect game play with no slowmotion effect at all just as if it were a movey on tv. but sure if your talking playable frame rate and dont mind it laging a little bit sure your card could. i just mean perfect gameplay. im a computer freak you see and i demand perfect frame rate for my dollar. fully smooth frame rate changes the game compleatly. and just to end my episaga here with you i never said you compared it i say there is no comparison as in me saying there is no comparison. you did not compare... i agree...you just made a point. anyway still i say buy now, you can always say buy later but later you can say that again. we live now and play now, so if its fun you want from your pc and the great software available today, get that awsome card and you will have hours of safe fun at home. live for the moment. im sure you wont go hungry.

8500gt can run at medium with all games? what at 8fps right? my old 8800gts 320's and 640 suck compared to 88gts512 like i mean double the performance from the gts512, and the 88gts 640 could not run things nice even at medium without seeing terible cut frames and lag a slowmotion effect. even good old doom 3 was a problem. serious i know you love your card but get a new one....seriously the difference is giiinormus!!! and you wont have to play games at 800 by 600 anymore:)

new cards over clock heaps and your cpu is overclocked by 600 so you probably put your cpu core voltages higher and all the other settings too. and a voltage meter the draw from the same system but overclocked increased buy 90 watts and remember that you plugs on your psu are probably all sharing the same amps so each fan dvd player and graphics card are only getting a percentage of the 12v power lines amps. sorry for my english its my second language. and always if you can run one power cable to your graphics card and dont share it with anything.

def YAY your mobo is ok, i thought maybe you have a cheepy like most people. just another thing to remember, a 500watt psu is ok and will work but in graphic intence scenes with lots of sound you can get pc crashes and wonder why, its the psu. so if you go the gx2 or gtx280 make sure your well above what they recomend. ive prooven this point to many customers who ordered 500 or even 600 watt psu. after hours of overclocking and figeting around i could not work out why so many pc's were crashing untill i put in a 800watt psu for a few days of testing and not one of them crashed even with high overclocks that i was blaming at the beggining. just letting you know incase your psu is under 600watt.

first thing to remember that not many people highlight enough is that a mother board makes a big diference too!! in my opinion you could keep your CPU but get a better motherboard and than a gx2 or a gtx280 will work MUCH better. the first maybe 5 pc's i built i used cheeper mother boards and wondered why they were still slow, untill i discided to try the more expensive mobo's, and it made a world of difference. your cpu will be a bottle neck for the card as the card will process way faster than your cpu, heh its all about money. i would still keep your cpu and memory and all that, just spend an extra +- 190 buks on a new board and get the gtx280. 512 bit on the res you are talking about will work much better.
