This is the 3rd game in the franchise and generally with most games who are on their 3rd outing its pretty much tightening up what the series is all about, I don't think with Halo 3 were going to have the greatest console FPS ever like when the first Halo launched with the first Xbox. Infact I reckon Halo 3 is like that been there done that game because surely its just Halo as we now it but in a different setting and with more vehicles and weapons, I'm not saying thats a bad thing but the launch of Halo 3 is not going to be like "teh greatest game eva".
I have a feeling that review wise Halo 3 wont even make AAA, it will be a solid game but everything in Halo 3 has already been done. Halo 3is notadding anything new to the FPS genre like the first Halo. To me Halo 3 is going to be the Zelda TP of this year, a solid game which sticks to the formula without adding anything new. Besides the FPS shooter genre is very crowded and the competition is very high, for an FPS to stick out it needs to be original and inventive, I for one reckon Haze and Bioshock are far better FPS's then Halo 3 because they are fresh and add something new to the ageing genre.
remind me how haze is adding something new to the genre, perhaps the tropical setting which has been done in far cry many years ago, or how its going to be beaten to the minimal pulp that it has because crysis does everything that haze is trying to do 1 million times better
