Let's just face it: The GWG titles for the Xbox 360 have just sucked ever since M$ mandated that they be compatible with the XB1!!

Whenever I read the name 'Michael Pachter' in any video game related article I just stop reading. He's one of the most ill-informed 'analyst' out there. Gamespot, you suckered into this click-bait article! I should've known by the headline what 'analyst' you might be referring to!

@sealionact: You may be somewhat right.... The facts are that everyone on my friends list owns an XB1 except for me. But every time I log on to play I notice that more than 50% of my friends are using the XB1 to watch a video app (Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Crunchyroll, etc..). Always above 50%, it never fails. So they're not always playing BC games, they're watching videos. The only game that had an impact on that percentage was Fallout 4, and that only lasted about two weeks. No other game before or since has even come close. That is pathetic and that is the reason I have not moved on to the XB1.

@phillybro806: I believe that the reason XB1 owners use the BC feature so much is because they're very unsatisfied with the selection of XB1 titles (exclusive or otherwise). I love my 360 and still play games on it everyday. 3.5yrs into the XB1 life cycle and I still don't see any games that make me think 'OMG, I have to buy an XB1 to play that!'

@turniplord: I usually wait a good number of years before entering a new generation of consoles to let the exclusive libraries build up. I waited 1.5 years with the PS2/OG XB/GameCube. I waited 3 years with the 360/PS3 generation. But now, even after 3.5 years into this generation, I just don't feel that there is a good enough lineup of 'must play' exclusives for each system to warrant the console purchases. It just feels like there are too many mediocre exclusives and way too many remasters of games I already own/played. Just think back to the titles available during the first 3 years of the last generation. Would you say that the first 3 years of the current generation have surpassed the previous gen in terms of quantity and quality of new IPs?

I'm a fan of all video games so I always buy both major consoles at the same time. At this rate I may wait to buy this generation of consoles toward the end of the life cycle or skip it altogether! I find myself being drawn back to my Steam collection or titles I missed from previous generations (such as Suikoden II on PS1, Makai Kingdom on PS2, Psychonauts on OG XB, Heavy Rain on PS3 or Halo ODST on 360). All I'm saying is that I feel let down by the current state of affairs.

@swantn5: A minority of my friends own the PS4 exclusively and they tell me the same thing. I usually wait a good number of years before entering a new generation of consoles to let the exclusive libraries build up. I waited 1.5 year with the PS2/OG XB/GameCube. I waited 3 years with the 360/PS3 generation. It just feels like there are too many mediocre exclusives and way too many remasters of games I already own/played. It just seems sad.

I haven't jumped into the XB1 generation yet but everybody on my friend's list has. I find it a little disconcerting that every time I log onto my 360 to play my 'old-ass' games, more than 7% of my friends are always watching some video streaming service or playing 360 games thru the BC feature. That tells me that most of my XB friends are not finding anything worthwhile to play on their XB1s. That doesn't make me want to rush out and by an XB1. Am I reading my friend's activities wrong?

@grin89: I agree with you. I had to turn off all notifications on my 360 so that I no longer see any achievements 'pop'. I enjoy my games so much more now. I don't own an XB1 yet but I hope you can still turn off notifications!

@69ingChimpmunks: I don't have an XB1 yet but I'm surprised to hear what you just stated. How awful is the XB1 dashboard that it is missing some great, simple features from the 360 generation? It's just sad.
