"Could these comparisons please stop happening. They're quite annoying, actually. There are plenty of games with awesome graphics but terrible gameplay, and there are also games with average graphics but awesome gameplay. And just about everything in between." Here here. Unfortunately, today's gaming market is so different that "comparisons" are not needed. Each console creates it's own field, and I'd say that all the "next-gen" consoles on the market are at a level that is equal; each negative balances a positive. Trying to showcase the fact that a small selection of games on the PS3 are better than that of an equally small selection of games on the XBOX360, or vice versa, does not achieve anything, other than attracting idiotic fanboys who will do anything to scream "SEE!! MY X CONSOLE IS BETTER THAN YOUR Y CONSOLE" at the slightest improvement or change that has been made upon a particular console's game. The bottom line is, there is no "better." Each console has it's own strengths and weaknesses, and I'd greatly appreciate it if at least the Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo/Whatever other gaming company die-hards shut up and look at the facts.

Erm... Why is it, with ALL of the games mentioned, I'm noticing that it's the exact opposite of what GameSpot is saying? The Playstation 3 version of Assassin's Creed looks quite good, whereas GTA4 looks bloody awful on XBOX360, even in high definition. There are MANY different factors that weigh in on the overall graphics clarity. Are they using Monster HD Cables? Good quality Plasma TVs? Opinions will not be swayed by a simple juxtaposition of the two consoles, and it's certainly not always the hardware of the console that is at fault. I find that most high quality cables don't work to their full potential on the XBOX360, and some great TV screens fail to work properly in conjunction with the PS3.
