they're not similar, but L4D was so fresh + great..., and had an immense impact on (coop) shooters..

if they gave GOTY to Overwatch, then L4D deserved it too back then (L4D had an immens influence on shooters)

eitherway Gamespots GOTY (List) 2016 was as bad as it's review (scores) of 2016... (and as bad the "video game awards"..)

Dark Souls 3, Dishonored 2, Pokemon Sun/Moon, Fire Emblem Fates, Doom, Uncharted 4, Deus Ex, Titanfall 2... it was a good year, just missing more RPGs (FFXV was imo a disapointment)

Dishonored 2 got 8/10 (like Watchdogs 2..) and is the 4th best GOTY according to Gamespot (shows how bad the Gamespot scores were in 2016, hope they get it together in 2017)

this is what we need more from Gamespot and other sites... recommendations/tips when games (especially shooters or stealth games) are better on the higher/highest setttings!!.. well done Gamespot!

(since not all shooters/games are better on the higher settings for the 1st playthru)

Gamespot has lost it's touch over the years... 2016 has been one of its worst lows for Gamespot, when it comes to reviews and scores... and they had the chance to fix it with this GOTY list... but instead they just made it worse..... .

for 2017, going to see on Metacritic to see the scores Gamespots give... but not waste time to go on Gamespots site anymore... not untill it feels like theyre back on track ...or till the end of 2017 to see if they f.. uck up the GOTY list then again..., other sites are more reliable

the burn from playing DS games is cause the games take up so much time to finish.. and they’re so good you end up playing NG+ games too... that’s where the real burn comes from....

and From Software deserves GOTY, they have been making great Souls games and had an incredible impact on the gaming industry with their game design.. but barley ever won GOTY for for DS1 or BB... but this time they should get it (especially when looking at the other GOTY candidates)

DS3 still had a lot of fresh moments and ideas (using the better hardware power to execute it)....

if anything "bad" could be said about DS3, its gone a tick more towards "casual" playing.. adding more/close bone fires to save and adding (unlimited) white bones early on (for safe return)..

agree with you, the list so far is BS.. after Gamespot gave so many games a simple 8/10.. and now f.. cking up the GOTY list... im going back to the other sites and am going to ignor Gamespot for the whole 2017

(and see how DS3 is only the 13th spot, shows that there have incapable gamers reviewing, since many couldnt even play DS3 for lacking patience... otherwise if more had played DS3 it would have been futher up... ; winner will be a game "all" can play resp. very comercial game)
