I have a day one European 60 gb ps3. It has worked fine for the last 2 years. Today however it keeps freezing or crashing 30 sec - 3 min after I've turned it on. Either the screen just freezes, or it shuts down and the red light on the ps3 starts to blink. I've read around and the blinking red light normally suggests that your ps3 is dead from what I understand, but this doesn't seem to be the same problem to me. The thing is that my ps3 works perfectly for a short amount of time, the display and sound is correct, I can play games without problems, and there seems to be nothing wrong with the HDD as I can access files without a problem. Any advice on what I could try to do would be appreciated.

Yes, the scene at the end of act 3 was mindblowing, but it's a pity it was not in-engine (if it was it would mean that PS3 is reaaally powerful).

It was in-engine, why wouldn't it be?

[QUOTE="nc_soldier"]Those who say this will work obviously doesn't rly know how Onlive works. If some1 is playing crysis at the highest settings on Onlive it doesnt just mean that you most have a good online connection, it means that there has to be one pc standing in a server room working only for you and your crysis. Obviously that means that if 1 million people want to play crysis at the same time they need 1million computers to run just crysis, and they dont have the resources to buy that many computers/a super computer that can run 1million versions of crysis at the same time. Bebi_vegeta

You don't even have a clue... it's a cloud server... did you even informe yourself?

I suppose I formulated myself badly and you misunderstood what I meant. Now, I do not rly know the details behind how a cloud server works. But my point was and is that to run a highly demanding game like crysis for 1million users or more you need the prossesing power to do so. Which as I said, would mean either 1 pc for each user or one or more super computers powerfull enough to run several versions of the game at the same time. No technology can make a game like crysis run out of nowhere. You need alot of prossesing power to run it, and there is no way that they can afford all the prossesing power needed to satisfy the market they've been advertising for (the guys who wants to play prossesing heavy games like crysis). Btw, wikipedia (which I know might be wrong) says: High-end games such as Crysis Warhead will require one GPU per game however. Which basically proves my point.....

[QUOTE="nc_soldier"]

This might have been posted, but crytek has actually said at GDC that CE3 will run slightly better on PS3.

Here's the actuall quote: Yerli went on to describe how the engine is being built to perform across platforms. "The CE3 runs currently at more or less the same quality bar. I say more or less because the engine still optimizes itself to power of the platforms' intrinsics. So the PS3 will run slightly better here, it'll look and feel probably the same, but the engine is diverting computation needs to power subsystems available to the PS3, and the 360 differently, and PC differently."

Oh please.. are you subjecting/thinking that CE3 will look and run better than the PC,XBOX 360 counterparts :lol: ? with this quote ''So the PS3 will run slightly better here'' With that he probably meant that for the Tech demo the ps3 version is better and they are more far on the platform than PC/XBOX 360..which it make sense the ps3 is the only console this gen that is a pain in the ass to dev for..and they didn't want to show an engine performing horrible on the ps3...( no good for their business ),you guys shouldn't put your hopes high yet.. like he said '' the engine still optimizes itself to power of the platforms' intrinsics''.

You come here putting words/thoughts in my mouth that I never expressed, and say that this statement which came from one of the crytek devs is bulls***and twist it into something different then what he actually said... because you can read my mind and know how CE3 works better then this dev right?....... rly what's the point of a post like this? well I guess this is why I come here, to laugh at guys like you.
