Heya guys,

I stopped visiting and contributing a while back after I found the site slowdown to be too difficult to either fix or deal with. Popped back today because I heard that Kevin had reviewed Watch Dogs and wanted his take on it.

I'm noticing that the site lag seems to have gotten worse, and the front page layout seems to have been redesigned again (not sure if a one off or ongoing) and is very very cluttered and disorganised.

Logging into my account still returns me to the front page instead of being context sensitive, the forums are scrolling in a slow and jerky fashion, and the LiveFyre comments are even slower for scrolling and loading than previous. I also read through the comments for the Watch Dogs review and there seems to be a lot less personality in there (have language filters been implemented?).

Anyways, the site just doesn't feel right. Its shiny & new, but still feels cluttered and slow. Sorry to be negative, but I really miss the old effective, efficient (from a user POV) website. Of course, being an AdBlock user, I'm not a paying customer, so my feedback probably isn't really valid :)

Cheers guys, I hope the site is better next time I check back in (probably when Witcher 3 comes out).

@Gelugon_baat: Have been using the filters for a week, but hasn't made much difference unfortunately.

Oh well, I suppose its not a big deal, I've cut back my visits to the site a lot since the start of the year. Plus I am not viewing or clicking the ads, so I guess I've got no right to really have a whinge about it.

Thanks for the help :)

@nait2k4:

It's not scrolling that is laggy - it's your browser lagging.

With that said, there are indeed stuff on GameSpot that slows down your browser - chief of which are the ads.

You might want to consider blocking these.

Should have mentioned I'm using Adblock+

Howdy ya'll,

When navigating the site, mouse scrolling tends to be very jerky and laggy. It is more evident on pages that have comments sections or videos (or both). I have tried to replicate the issue on other websites with comment sections/embedded videos, but they continue to scroll smoothly.

Is anyone else having this same issue? Its minor (from a big picture point of view) but frigging annoying when you're a comments junkie like me.

Am using Firefox (latest version), not tested on IE or Chrome.

Cheers!

I feel socially awkward in public, so I avoid the issue by only getting drive-through, and eating on my own in the darkened corners of car parks.
