I would buy new and hunt around for a PS3 bundle deal. If you wait for it, you can sometimes get a pretty good deal on the console and a game/extra controller.

Overall, I am pretty happy with it.

Currently playing Infamous and loving it. I also downloaded Dead Nation. I am waiting for some gaming "down time" (most likely post-Infamous) to co-op Dead Nation for the gold.

The movies and everything else offered was alright. PSN+ is cool, but not worth the extra funds.

I will definetly be picking Infamous and LBP. I haven't played either titles, heard great things, and am looking forward to (at least) two free Gold trophies and a lot of free gaming this summer.

PSN being down sucked, but I am now getting some free games and free credit monitoring out of it. Not a terrible deal.

Keep the cell. Just get a better GPU. Thats all I ask, oh and a late 2012/early 2013 release would be nice. gmaster456

I agree with keeping the Cell, or if modified, just barely.

I have always been befuddled by Sony's choice to put a cutting edge, 8 core processor (6,1,1 split) in a system with hardly any RAM and a weak dedicated video card.
As a PC gamer, it never made sense to me, and I feel like it is catching up with Sony now.

[QUOTE="spy2828"]

[QUOTE="JasonDarksavior"] Games are $109 over here in Aus ... :(JasonDarksavior

That is just... sad :|

And from what I have heard, a small amount of games are banned in Australia :x

Look at this. http://www.ebgames.com.au/ps3-153854-LA-Noire-PlayStation-3 How much is it in the States? What's even more annoying is that at the moment the AUD is higher than the USD.

Christ man. That would be $114 in US dollars using today's exchange rate.

I don't know much about the rest of Austrailia's living expense situation, but that is tough to swollow.
Do you guys have a Gamefly service over there? I would imagine that could be pretty profitable.

I agree, but not because you are bad at it.

CoD is bad, but I love playing it with the bros.

To be honest, with the way that Kmart has been hooking up the day 1 deals, I am not sure if you really have to pay full price anymore.

Besides the Kmart thing, Infamous and LBP1 being released for free should keep me pretty busy for the better part of the summer. I will most likely be holding my money until either a great deal on Dirt 3 comes about or my surefire day 1 purchase of Uncharted 3 arrives.

Agreed. It is overrated.

But do I play Black Ops regularly and enjoy it? Absolutely. It is a fun game with a huge following. That is what makes it so great.

It was a shooter that was dumbed down (compared to earlier PC shooters like counter-strike 1.6) that everyone can go online and have fun playing.
There is a short learning curve, lots of ways to keep everyone competitive, and simple matchmaking so you can play hammered drunk after you get back from the bars.
It is a shooter perfectly designed for the same bros that buy every year of Madden and put 100 hours in to it.

There is nothing wrong with that, they know their market and cater to it.
But there are many that have never experienced anything other than CoD/Madden/NHL and proclaim those games to be the best ever.
I don't know how you could own a PS3 and never experience the Uncharted or GoW series. The best exclusives hands down, yet most of these bros only care about the next CoD and the upcoming siiiiick Madden refresh.

So long story short, I agree with you. Unfortunately, most of the paying PS3 userbase does not/is too ignorant to know any better.

Just finished Portal 2 single-player last night. Going to finsh the co-op sooner or later (started split-screen with roommate who left on vacation).
I also have some DLC from GTA IV I occasionally play.

And I am constantly throwing my Black Ops disk in to play with friends. Just made the leap and prestiged, hopefully I don't regret the decision.

I wish I could join you. I made the mistake of selling Uncharted 2 after beating the single player because I was on a tear catching up on a lot of the PS3 titles I had missed.

Now that I have been exposed to what is really out there, I long for my Uncharted 2 multiplayer. At least I will have the knowledge to keep Uncharted 3.
