So answer to your question is always the same-360 developers.They are simply no match to Sonys 1st party.Be it talent,engines,tools,time and money budget...etc,that one is certain ;)

Are you sure they are not pushing graphics? try to run a game with Reach and Gears2 graphics with 2 player splitscreen coop on a PS3. Gears3 with 4 player coop seems to even top the best graphics on consoles. thats impressive ;)
Running splitscreen will significantly down grade the gfx, it's more or less tacked on after the gfx for single screen is finished. So having splitscreen doesn't push gfx at all. RE5 looks better than Halo Reach/Gears 2, so there, there is a coop game on PS3 with good gfx, Resistance 2 looks pretty good too.
