[QUOTE="monco59"]But you already have the games in Group A, right? So why don't you keep your old rig so you can play those great classics AND buy a new rig to play those new games. I mean, upgrading an obsolete rig won't be any cheaper than getting a decent new one.retro82

I want to keep my laptop. The question is whether to buy a new system or not.

So why are you talking about upgrading?

And the answer is obvious. Get a new system!

Shouldnt I first compare the quality of games in groups A and B ? If group A is not better than B why should I invest in a new system while I already have a computer?

But that doesn't answer my question.

Anyways, even though I personally think Group B is better, you shouldn't deny yourself either group. Therefore the only logical step is to get a new system. And none of the games in Group B have particularly high requirements, so getting a new system becomes even more of a no-brainer.

I've got 'em all and I'd say the first one was the best. Though CoD 4 is an extremely close second.

It could POSSIBLY be done. When you design for a pc you have to take into account that there are endless amounts of hardware configurations and you have to make sure it runs on all of them. When your working with a console everyone has the same hardware. This allows for better optimizations on the hardware. Even if the game requires one gig of ram in a PC environment you may be able to cram that into a smaller amount of ram without having to run an OS and whatever else has to run in the background for a PC.locklain

No, it really isn't possible. Even without all the added baggage a PC brings, 512 megs of RAM is too little. Not to mention the RSX isn't DX10-capable. Heck, the 8800GTX is a stronger card and even it has trouble running Crysis at high (nevermind very high).

I hope people would stop all this wishful thinking and accept facts. The PS3 will be getting it's own set of great exclusives, and we should all be contempt with that, and realize no console can even hope to match up favorably against a high-end PC.
