Well if you want somthing under $100 you can still get a good chipset. Gigabyte 690G is great board for under $100 and it retains alot of features. If you prepared to spend more money then get a NForce 590 board. The DFI LanParty boards are rock solid at high FSB. You just have to be patient enough to setup a DFI board.

There are "turbo memory" or "hyper memory" cards that double the VRAM they can use by stealing from the system RAM. And of the 8800GTS is not one of them. These cards suck of course because buffering the information of the GPU site adds alot of latency because all that info has to go from the system RAM accross the northbridge to the GPU and back. Very inefficient. That is why we have dedicated video memory.

I'd upgrade to Windows XP Professional. Much improved over Vista :)

The platnium is the extreme music with a console.
The X-Fi Fatality is the extreme gamer that has X-RAM with the console.
Extreme audio is X-Fi on a budget. It has no X-RAM, console, or software. But a good choice over an audigy 2.

I would get the Xtreme Gamer and 2 games do use the RAM and EAX 5.0
