I agree. We need to be able to select what tab it starts on. I would prefer My Xbox because it makes it quicker for me to start the game if I can just turn on the Xbox and go.

I actually had a similar problem with my 360 HDMI Premium and a Samsung LE32R88BD tv. I found out the 360 was actually at fault and not the TV though. Not sure if your tv is the same, but my HDMI channel won't come on unless you switch on the xbox or any other HDMI device. My first xbox did have this 'handshake' issue where you power on the xbox and it sends a signal to the tv, recognising a HDMI channel, but few seconds later, I got the message 'no signal detected' and a blank screen. You can hear the xbox still running but no light at all on the power button, the light on the controller will just blink as well. 2-3 trys reseting the machine it does eventually come on. I tried with componant cables and that worked fine, so it was just HDMI. Because it was new, I asked amazon for a replacement system, which the second xbox works fine. So in my case it was just a dodgy 360. My advice is probably borrow someone elses 360 with HDMI and see if you get the same problem.

Yeah that's pretty much what I am going through. I have a Samsung HLT6187S TV though. I am going to mess around with it and see what happens. I wonder if anyone else is having this problem.

Would it be a good idea for this to be released at the same time as other games such as Gears of War 2?

I bought a new 360 Elite about 2 weeks ago and was excited to hook it up using the HDMI connection. I currently have the 360 connected to my Samsung 61" TV with a Monster HDMI cable. When I try to power my Elite on with the Xbox controller sometimes nothing happens. The controller lights will blink, but the console never comes on. If that happens I have to power the 360 on by hitting the actual power button on the console and then when I do it takes about 20 seconds for the HDMI to kick in and send a signal to my TV.

The only problem is that when the 360 doesn't come on or it takes awhile to send a signal to my TV the Samsung won't recognize the HDMI input, it will skip over that input option because it doesn't detect a signal. So basically my TV inputs will go from HDMI 1 to Cable Channel 5 to Component 1 then Component 2. Well because of this the 360 never kicks in... it's like the 360 has to be on the HDMI input before it will turn on and display video.

So I have to change my TV back and forth from HDMI 1 to Cable and back several times before the HDMI 2 connection will pick up and the 360 will actually turn on and submit a signal. This needs to be address by Microsoft. I would think they could release a patch or firmware update for the HDMI connection. Does anyone else have this problem?

I would highly recommend the Nyco EX, they fixed the prob w/ melting by making it lock in place and they put a metal heat insulator on it also. A lot of people don`t understand the changes, and they mention the old ones like thse probs still exist. The biggest reason I bought it was to fight the locking up problem w/ R6 Vegas which it does extremely well.HilbillyRokstar

How did you get it to work HilbillyRokstar? As I stated above, I was unable to use the Nyco EX on my Elite system.

I know it voids your warranty if "it" actually breaks your 360.

The only reason I put any stock in the Intercooler is because I use to own a 360 PRO system. My wife and I use to play games a lot and everything was great. Well one day we picked up Viva Piñata to play. We popped it in the system and started playing and it was actually fun. Well the game would run about 15-20 minutes and lock up. At first we thought it was a bad disc. So after the game locked up several times, and made my wife mad, I took the game back and got another new copy.

I brought that one home and it did the exact same thing. After playing for 15-20 minutes the game would lock up and we would lose all of our progress. So I did a little research and decided to buy the Intercooler to see if it was an overheating problem. Well after putting the Intercooler on the system we played Viva Piñata and we were able to play for several hours. We never had another problem with the system locking up and the Intercooler ran for over a year (then my 360 was stolen).

So my experience with the Intercooler has been positive, had it been negative like some I wouldn't endorse the product either. So naturally I decided to buy another Intercooler for the 360 Elite - But it doesn't work. So has anyone else run into this issue?

Well I just bought a 360 Elite and an Intercooler EX 2 days ago. I went to hook everything up last night and the Intercooler EX does not work with the Elite. The power cable coming off of the 360 Elite power brick will not fit into the Intercooler EX power slot.

The Intercooler actually has a piece of plastic in the middle of the power slot that will not allow you to push the 360 power cable into it. I tried looking online for answers to see if Microsoft changed the power cord or if other people are having this problem but I really haven't found anything yet. Has anyone else run into this problem? Did Microsoft change something? Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I stopped by Best Buy and they actually had 4 Xbox 360 Elite systems on the shelf. I spoke with a lady that worked there and she said they received a shipment of 50 360's this weekend but over half of them went to warranty replacement. So out of the 50 they received they only had 4 systems left and they were all 360 Elite's.

I went ahead and picked up the Elite system and a few games, controllers, and batteries. Now it's time to play some Bioshock and DMC 4. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
