I recently had to deal with this same question, basically if you want the best sound (best sound codec used by ps3) like you asked, you need to use hdmi for audio, by best codec I mean 7.1 dts hd (or whatever, not sure what is called exactly) / but that being said unless you have a state of the art suround sound I would just use optical because it can do 5.1 and I think 5.1 is still the most widely owned and accepted formats as far other medias going into ps3 (dvd, video, ps2 games whatever)

hope that helps

I get the same problem from time to time but, like someone said, just unplug the power to the router for 20 seconds let it resent and just plug it back in should definetly do the trick, (works everytime for me)

/ Also you DO have to quit the game too, becuase for some reason the PS cannot connect while game is running (at least COD4 that is)

I have played coop both ways (online and offline-splitscreen) and both are great

ways to play: Online(versus 2v2, splitscreen versus, or coop campigne) offline (splitscreen coop, singleplayer campigne )

actually there is online splitscreen for AoT, haven't played it yet, so can't tell you how smooth it is, online versus is fun when connected to relatively fast people, and online campiagn is great, didn't have any problems there

oh and UT3 doesn't have splitscreen of any kind (for that poster that had a question about it)

I just reread what you posted and it didn't click the first time/ (Once I switched) the movie volume and the game volume are on the same level, i don't have to change the volume if I go from game to movie like i had before and jack up the volume, is that more of the answer you are looking for

Yes, it is in the setting options, not sure if its the bd/dvd icon or the audio settings icon. And no i haven't noticed any difference on games as far as volume.

I had same exact problem with Blu-ray movies, i switched the audio type (from pcm to bitstream or visversa) don't remember, try that it worked great for me and I don't have to increase the volume of the PS3. Hope that helps

Seeing recently peoples ability to mod the COD4 names by using the user data downloaded to the hd, would this be able to be done with the downloaded DMC4 data but change the battle music too another music file instead? Maybe something a little heavier, Just a question
