Where did Gamespot get their cost for a GTX 260? $229 is not the cost of that card. The only one I found on NewEgg.com was one made by MSI and that was the absolute lowest cost model. The average cost of a GeForce GTX 260 on the site is $296.75. With tax and standard shipping from NewEgg, you'd end up paying $329.46, $100 cheaper than what Gamespot posted.

What about the intel core 2 Q6600? It's half the price of the quad processor they're showing off here. Is this like the differences between the 8800 GTX and the 8800GT? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017

Is the 8800 Ultra coming configured with a factory installed aqua tank like the 8800 GTX had? When these cards are over clocked I can imagine that they would get extremely hot, and the aqua tank would really bring down the temperature. I'd also rather have the factory install them instead of me because if the device malfunctions, I can send it back. There's also the added stability and even an increase in frames per second. Usually when my cards overheat they having errors when rendering polygons and they flash green.

The 8800 GTX performs poorly on DX9 games and none of the games in the comparisons were DX10 games. When tests on these four cards (8800GTS, 8800GTX, 2900XT, and 2900XTX) are run on a DX10 games, then an accurate comparison can be made.
