Ok new plan: build a system that can play new games on 'average' to 'good' settings with option of upgrading in the future. So now my budget is about £400 for the system + extra £££ for monitor (and i've already got a legit OS so no worries there).

Any thing else i should consider?

Ok I have build my own system before but it was something like 8 years ago so i'm (quite a bit) rusty. Right now i'm in the very early stages and just wanted to know a few things before i get started.

1. Realisticlyif i want to play all current and soon to be released games at the highest quality what is the spec i should be aiming for? I know this is an open question so i should specify a few things. I'm looking at spending £200-£300 (not sure how realistic that is yet and its not fixed), also i probably will overclock eventually but i really dont know how yet so not from the start.

2. Intel or AMD CPU (or alternative)?

3. Is there any features that are a must have and anything i should try and avoid?

So basically I need a starting point at which to research components.

Thanks in advanced =)
