Oh yeah its the same here. Ive been playing the first since it came out and still playing it now. I play the second every so often with friends over. A relative has the third but i have hardly played any.
I was listening to the HotSpot podcasttoday when i heard that Timesplitters 4 had been officialy announced. Great news for all Timesplitters fans but this made me begin to wonder. I have played all three games and by now know them inside and out but what i wanted to know is what all of you guys and girls think is the best title in the series so far.
Personally i think the very first Timesplitters was the best for a few reasons. I'l start off with a simple one. The multi-player is simply brilliant. Yes all of the games have great multi-player but the first one just seems to capture it so well. Running through the the Graveyard or the Egyptian level while trying to frag your friends just seems more fun in this title compared to the others.A group of friends and a multitap will prove this. Secondly the weapons. They just seem to have a certain charm that seems to be lost in the other titles. Running with a plasma autorifle or a tommy gun just seems much more satisfying than with the homing rocket launcher in the second or third instalments. Lastly the mapmaker theme "Gothic" just made the game for me. Ducking in and out from behind the wooden beams and concrete barriers while dodging enemy fire. It has made a lasting impression.
Well those are my reasons why i think the first was the best title although it was a very close decision. By no means am i saying that i don't like the other two titles. On the contrary i find them some of the best games aroundto play. Its just that i think the first just has a slight edge.
