Your decision to stop making offline games is not something I'm pleased with. I'm 34 years old, and most of my friends either don't play video games anymore, or have different work schedules than me, which makes it difficult for us to coordinate times to play games online together.
This leaves me with 2 options: play games online with a bunch of people that I don't know, most of whom are much younger than me (not that I have a problem with your generation, young people (and a small, but very vocal minority of annoying, racist jerks)), or option 2: play offline. I almost always opt for the latter option.
The other problem I have, EA, is that I just simply prefer offline gaming. When I get a new game, I usually don't even bother with online modes. I opt for "career mode" or "story mode".
Playing video games is my "me" time. It's what I do after a long day of dealing with people, after my wife has gone off to bed. It's a great way to unwind, and I don't care to have a bunch of strangers join me.
