@doncabesa: Modding is still very limited, even on the games that don't use UWP. Gaming on the PC is 90% vanilla experience across the board.

@doncabesa: You do know what PC Gamers are capable of doing with their games don't you? It's one of many things that separates the PC Gaming experience from a console gaming experience. You can't do any of those things with PC Game Pass because you don't have file access because it uses UWP, which is jacked up.

All that you can do is play the vanilla game as you do on a console.

Makes me wonder why they even bothered putting the service on the PC when the experience is no different than playing games on an Xbox.

All the money wasted on buying timed game exclusives didn't even create a scratch on Steam's armour.

@doncabesa: "Xbox Game Pass PC: $10 a month and gives you hundreds of PC games"

Which basically turns what should be a PC Gaming experience into an Xbox console experience. You get none of the perks of playing games on a PC from Game Pass.

@YukoAsho: I think that Sony's game releases on the PC are far more than an advertisement for their consoles. They have invested heavily in the PC platform and one day there may be Playstation game releases for both platforms at the same time.

Seems like everything is meant to be easy today with no effort - all levels of professional sports, school work and school in general for kids and students, music, acting. Barely any talent or effort put forth today and you can still reap the benefits. Using a tool like this is a perfect example.

@YukoAsho: Sony has changed course on some things along the way, but yes they have had their own idea of what playing games in the Playstation ecosystem will be.

What's really funny is that Microsoft could have been something like Valve/Steam if they had stuck with the PC as a gaming platform, which they did for a bit but their flirtation with PC Gaming was always that exactly, a half-hearted flirtation. Companies and devs today are still trying to figure ways of getting around Microsoft's awful Games for Windows Live.

It's also crazy that Microsoft has been putting Xbox Games on the PC for almost 8 years. Sony has been doing it for 3 years and they have leapfrogged right over Microsoft by giving more compelling games, and with everything that PC Gamers like myself expect from a company who is putting games on the platform. Sony had a rough start on the PC but I think that they will learn from those mistakes.

@YukoAsho: That's because for the most part Microsoft has floundered back and forth between things and relying on what looks hot and popular, and what doesn't. They were never a company who could lead the way on anything because they have always followed.

They honestly thought that PC Gaming would just die off and that console gaming would take over. When Microsoft saw a new golden age of PC Gaming starting to happen they changed course, but by then it was too late.
