Sorry, I don't anticipate games, especially hype-fest ones. I'll wait until a game shows up on Best Buy's shelves before I worry about whether to play it or not. Previews are useless, as are the so-called "hands on" advertisements for upcoming games. The "journalists" are shown hand-picked sections of game that the developer and/or publisher know work, but can be radically altered before the game ships, so there is no point in either party wasting the time and effort doing the preview or hands-on.

DRM punishes paying customers and encourages piracy. The sooner game publishers grasp this fact, the sooner we will be spared wading through "articles" like this one.

The only thing DRM does is encourage piracy and enrich the DRM companies.

inSecuROM is one of the worst offenders in the DRM spectrum. They replace device drivers in order to keep you from using certain legal software applications on your computer and cannot be easily uninstalled. That is not 'rights' management. That is a virus. StarFarce is even worse, but not by much.

I've been playing with the 64-bit version of Windows 7 for over a week. So far, I like it much better than Vista. It boots far faster than XP or Vista could ever dream of booting and the new Taskbar is very easy to get used to. It's like a combination of the Quick Launch bar and the Taskbar rolled into one. I put a PC together out of older parts over the weekend. That is going to be my next test platform. If that goes well, I'll try my Lenovo cheapie laptop next.

Until someone finally figures out how to actually replce the video card with the personal display, be it glasses or some other device, this type of gadget will be a low-selling niche item. Given the current state of the global economy, this gizmo is doomed.

You should also add SpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) to the Install Software list. SpywareBlaster blocks a tremendous number of known malware sites, as well as blocking a great many driveby downloads in the first place. Also, I prefer TUGZip (http://www.tugzip.com/) to 7-Zip.

Running beta drivers for this article just invalidates the results. If you're going to publish something like this, you should use the latest release version of drivers, not betas. Also, why is there no recommended or high-end system with XP on it or a minimum spec system with Vista? Where are the AMD CPUs? Hardware performance comparisons don't get shoddier than this.

Vista in any form still lags behind XP in the real world. Canned benchmarks mean next to nothing.

Mice have been at the 3200dpi level for well over a year now. If you think you need that high a sensitivity, find an older mouse with the dpi you want for half the price or less.
