Actually your wrong @mad7334 , they know exactly what they are doing...trying to rip you off and control the gaming industry in a way that will allow them to maximize there profits by screwing you over.
Finally the good guys win! You know the gamers, the people who pay for these over-priced games. If you never stand up for yourselves you'll always be disappointed...not to mention taken advantage of!

How about no hardcopy games lets start with that, and we can also talk about the fact that you will not be buying ANY used games anymore. M$ think they can tell you what you can do with your money and what you PAID for...oh yea you don't own anything anymore your just paying for it like an asshole.

Why not just buy a PC and game on that? This is the best option, indeed the argument for PC gaming has never been a more viable one. Then you can tell M$ and Sony to eat shit and die like I did a long time ago. I don’t know about you but (Nobody tells me how I’m going to play my games or what I can and can’t do with them). These greedy companies are only going to stop screwing you over when you cut off their “$” supply. But therein lies the rub, most people talk a good game on the internet but when it comes time to act, they just bend over and take it in the ass!
PC gamers on the other hand are generally much more stubborn…and sophisticated than that. Yes we have DRM and shit companies like STEAM to deal with, but at least their pricing is reasonable. For a matter of fact their pricing is downright excellent compared to the amount of $ you console gamers are going to be shelling out for a “download” no hardcopy, no trade in value, and a system that has to be “always on” the internet.
Oh yea, and to all you Sony “fan-boys” out there don’t start rejoicing just yet. Even though Sony say they are not going to be messing with your ability to buy, trade, and use your games the way you want I STRONGLY doubt that they will keep that promise. Buying a PC is your best option…in my case it was the only option. Even with all this DRM and downloadable games my friends and I have no problems with our gaming, and I can make hardcopies of any games I own…easily. Finally if all that wasn’t enough for you remember, these shiny new consoles will only be impressive for about the first couple of years. after which they will start to show their age and even a mid-range PC game machine will be able to outperform these crappy consoles.
Even though you may miss out on some of the exclusive stuff who really cares? There is no “one” game out there worth buying an entire game system over. The PC gets just about every game that comes down the line. Do yourself a big favor this generation… buy a PC!

Consoles are great for people who can't afford a REAL gaming PC but all this back and forth about specs on a console is ridiculous. All you need to know is no matter which one you go with it will be better than the one you currently have! As far as a console being better than a PC...come back to the world of reality! I have a 3rd GEN I7 CPU 2.4-3.4 GHZ, 2 GTX 680 in SLI, SSD drives and to add insult to injury I'm packing 32GB of fast DDR3 1600MHZ system memory. The Xbox and playstation together could not mess with my rig. If you've got a powerful PC then my advise would be stick with that, as this new crop of gaming consoles is basically "much to do about nothing".
I love this new generation of jerk-off gamers who think "it's all about the graphics". Don't get me wrong I love a great looking game, but these kids obviously have NO IDEA what truely makes a great gaming experience...here's a clue it's not the visuals.
