The PS2 was just another gaming system just like all the others. It was not impenetrable so no doubt you had a few faulty systems. It's nothing that a few guys at some computer store or game/video rental store can't fix. My system was faulty after 1 or 2 years and I took it to a computer store and they fixed it in a day for $10-$20. As for the big shortage thing, Nintendo did it too with the DS. Every company does it. If you want it to stop, don't just bash Sony, bash Nintendo and Microsoft too. The system cost $600 maybe because Sony actually went above and beyond with a cell processor and all that other stuff that makes your grandma slap herself. If you don't like Sony or the PS3, then shut up, and go to your Nintendo Wii or Microsoft Xbox forums. IF you like all games, don't bad mouth any system. They all have strengths and weaknesses.
