It looks to me that Vista SP1 offers actually a combo patch for the ones bored to update from time to time. It's frustrating that the bad issues of Vista haven't been fixed :-(

I hear all this hype and it is clear to me that some people deliberatly are promoting this new OS exagarating about common stuff. Lets be honest for a while. What is so great about Windows Vista? Better safety? Not really . It offers a new firewall that is as mediorce as the one of XP and anyway i use ZoneAlarm which is better. Offers anti-spyware tools and some other fancy stuff BUT i use Spyware Doctor for this which is better... Generally all the "new" stuff Vista offers are mediorce versions of third party programs we all use and are quite happy with. And by the way they costed us only a few bucks. Why pay at least 350Euro for this messy slow OS when i can do the same but faster and more stable with XP? Faster gaming? Not that either. In fact benchmarks show everything is 20% slower. I could say that Windows Vista is for Windows XP what Windows Millenium was for Windows 98 . A graphical retouch with a few extras . I wonder how nooone hasn't mentioned anything about Microsoft breaking the laws since they antagonise illegaly other companies by offering free antagonistic programs like antispyware or CD DVD coping software for free etc... The only good thing Vista has is DX10 but this is not the core of OS . It's a blackmail to us so to buy the new ultra heavy OS. Yet from what i have seen DX10 doesn't seem THAT special after all. It is clear to me that they did it for the profit. If it was the profit they had in mind only i would at least appreciate if they could sell me an XP upgrade with DX10 at the same price they sell Vista. If i had the option for the same amount of money to keep XP and have DX10 i would be happy to pay them the exact amount they sell Vista today.. and would gladly pay in order to keep this grabage OS named Vista out of my machine. But they haven't offer me such a choice. By not granting DX10 for XP they force me eventually to buy Vista and get a 20% decrease on everything (effectivly killing the improvment my new planned hardware upgrade would normaly offer me) just so that they can pretend they offered me something new :( So in fact Vista is actually as if reversing the time of all computing 2 years back. . We will all buy new hardware so to experience the same benchamrks we had with our old computers years ago so that we may "enjoy" the Vista and Aero "glamorous" looks. Who cares about how desktop looks anyway? After all when we are working into programs or playing games we don't see the desktop. I would prefer a desktop with BIOS looks if that would offer me a few extra frames. The software is supposed to help the hardware so that it performs better not pullling the handbrake on it! I really can't understand why the mainstream computing industry lacks common sence to such a great extend :( For sure i am not going to buy Vista now and maybe in 1 year or so IF i see some game i really want to play and uses only DX10 i may reconsider. But only because i won't have other option. For the time being i am sticking with XP and i have started to explore the Linux option too..... I even consider switching to Linux at soem point and use some program like WINE to be able to play Windows games on a Linux OS.... I had no intention previously to switch to Linux since i was preety happy with XP but after witnessing how low Microsoft has got i am staring to consider it .
