@bucknuts77 Yep that is definitely true. At some point they stop becoming games and start becoming companies and start becoming game factories, which is why it blows my mind that they keep giving them decent reviews. And people wonder why there isn't as much innovation in the gaming industry.

Destiny is such an overhyped game. Looking at gamespots front page, it's good to see they haven't gotten their hands dirty with that. What we all really need is another call of Duty or Halo. I'm sure Kevin will be giving those games even lower than a 6 considering they're committing a worse crime of slightly updating the game and making the sheep feel like they need to buy it every year. At least Bungie got sick of doing that and wanted to try something they haven't done before. I'm glad all the people giving this game a 0 are also giving CoD a 0 too. Keep fighting the good fight, guys!

I think it deserves an 8 because of it's solid mechanics and the "make your own story" aspect of it. After Halo 2 every halo game has been more predictable than this game. Where you gain a little, trigger a cutscene, gain a little more, trigger a cutscene. But because they're technically done as good as games that gamespot has set a precedent of giving them 8-10 they feel like they need to keep doing so. Look what they gave every cod and halo game. Today I was playing and getting owned by a mob and 2 other players stormed in and saved me and we formed a fire squad for 3 hours. That to me is memorable. I can't tell you the story of the last cod or halo, but I'll remember that.

Kevin's reviews kind of annoy me. He has a hard time hiding his "pc master race" bias for anything that's hyped and doesn't have a 2 week learning curve like path of exile (even though I love path of exile). Hasn't he played enough halo -like shooters that disguise their "go here, trigger this, watch cutscene, rinse repeat. I've played so many that it's starting to turn me off to shooters. What he fails to mention is that this game isn't trying to be like that, it's trying to have you be the one who fills in the story. He fails to mention how thrilling it is when you are having a hard time with some enemies and a fireteam shows up and blasts them all away and you end up making some new friends for 3 hours, and then the same thing happens tomorrow. I love that this game plays to those strengths and doesn't care about being the 100th shooter this year that's trying to win an academy award with it's story. I like that. Screw me, right?

Did anyone else catch that in the written review he writes, "SimCity (the game) isn't the pinnacle of the series, but it's super fun. SimCity (the service) is a disaster," but in the video review he says 'it's fun, if not the pinnacle of the series" He's so fixated on using his review to nerd rage he didn't realize he made a HUGE contradiction. Is it or isn't it (the game) possibly the pinnacle of the series? And yes, in the written review he is just talking about the gameplay and not the service, because he then calls the service "a disaster".

People complaining about the connection must be trying to get on once a week or something. I had a lot of problems launch day, but since then it's been minimal lag and I've been having the time of my life. I've never had such an enjoyable multiplayer experience, and I love multiplayer games.
