I have played both and I love both. I never played Far cry 1 nor 2 but that doesn't matter, was simply amazing. the story in FC 3 was a bit... rushed.. but as another commenter said, that is not it's selling point. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy FC3's story and it is a REALLLYY fun game. AC3 was fun but had its flaws as well, but I was more curious about AC3 than I did enjoying it. was interesting but didn't amaze me nor the ending of it. Tough choice but I am greatly pleased that I picked up FC3. Even with its story faults, it is still amazing, gameplay and the open world , also looks amazing. Love the setting more than I do the old world 1700's. just depends on what you want, a conclusion to a story you have followed up on, or a "finding yourself and finding out what truely matters in life" story. I am partially sad with FC3's story since he kind've went back and forth on things and was very vengeance driven, and his friends meant little to nothing to me, some barely even said a word throughout the game.Felt more for the villians and they were much more interesting to me, my favorite game this year, no doubt. Connor was just too rash, arrogant and annoying to me, I enjoyed some other aspects and his dad made sense along with some others but mostly, you want to feel the most towards the main character but he just seemed like a kid always trying to grow up , made assumptions a lot and didn't care for anyone else's perspective but his own. He was all balls to the wall or nothing at all. Then got slapped in the face with how little he actually knew about things and never fully thought anything through, not even a love interest for him, barely cared for connor besides the native american setting and the whole father thing. his father was kind've cool and hearing more from the templars side and the assassin's side was interesting.. Far cry 3 is open to options which I like for a shooter, I can distract guards and take a few down silently, shoot a cage with a tiger or whatever in some camps and while they are distracted killing the animal I can kill them, go up top on a hill and snipe some out and learn their patrol. the AI is a bit.. stupid. can silence shot someone far away and they will actually run right in the direction that I am in but there are many different vantage points and options you can choose. I also loved hunting in the game. I enjoyed exploring in Far cry 3 but AC 3 exploring felt eh to me. definitely didn't care for the frontier and anytime I could skip over it, I did. Different experiences but both are fun to play none the less.
