And to top things off...mine was BLAZING fast like 2 months ago.
OK, I have a WRT54G Ver. 6 (Linksys). My PS3 (60GB) is connected wirelessly to this router. I have a 10 MB/S Connection to the internet. I have done download tests on both my PS3 and Computer. The tests show my download speed is about 9.5MB/S or 10 MB/S... pretty good right? My Warhawk host limit is 16. So I would say I have got it pretty good.
I have a 100% signal strength. So HOW THE HELL does all my friends that have a 2 mb/s connection with a signal strength of about 60% (with the same router) download 600 MB off the PSN in 10 minutes? For me it's taking 30 minutes and I've only gotten 10% so far. My uncle has an 80 GB and it literally downloads at 1mb/s off the Playstation Store. He has a 60% signal and a 2MB/S connection with a crappier router. What the hell, how does this work? Both friends that have PS3s have 60 GBs and they are already done and playing. They started downloading since 4:30 and finished at 4:35. I don't see why my PS3 USED TO DOWNLOAD 1mb/s 3 weeks ago with ease, I downloaded the Sony conference which is what, 1.2 gigs or something like that, in like 10 minutes.
**bleep**? It was downloading from the PSN more than 1mb/s. Now I'm lucky if I get 250kb/s. What the hell happened? Are they trying to cut me off? I have restarted my internet SEVERAL times, upgraded my router firmware or "reflashed" it because i just did the same firmware over and over. Now...it's like I feel outdated. Is there something wrong with my PS3, my router? My TV? LOL What can it possibly be. That 3 weeks ago I downloaded blazing fast and today I can run a lap around toronto and come back and get another % done...it's messed up. I'm starting to think that the Wi-Fi chip in my PS3 is messed up. Why, because I have Remote Start on. It's on 24/7...could that be the reason? I highly doubt it. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same kind of symptoms for the past month? Thanks for reading...
