@Maddie_Larkin: That was what I had in mind too. No console can match the PC in terms of the wide selection of games available. And the plus point of a PC is that you get to mod and customize games (those that allow it). However, the consoles do have exclusives that seem to be interesting. I will have to weigh my options carefully before deciding, though, but good information. I will keep that in mind.

@Sushiglutton: I prefer action/adventure games, but fantasy games have also appealed to me before in the past. The problem is that most of my friends and family members are non-gamers, so I have never played games with them before (being the reason I have never owned a console). My budget is flexible, enough to buy either one system, but not high enough to own more than one.

I am making a big gaming decision here. I have never owned a console before, and my PC is way too old to play any game. I have the option of going with a PS4, which has seen a lot of support from people all over the world, and already seems to be winning this console generation. I could go with an Xbox one and enjoy the many AAA exclusives that have long defined the xbox. Or I could go with a new gaming PC, and join the ranks of the 'Glorious Pc Gaming Master Race', as PC gamers like to dub themselves due to the highly superior graphics and performance. What say you? Which should be my first gaming system, and what system would you recommend for beginners to the gaming world?
