Neither of those games are midnight launch material to me. Lol, the last midnight launch I did was the World of Warcraft Lich king expansion. Boy, did I get my money's worth out of that one. Had to retire due to the fact that I am completely incapable of playing a MMoRPG in moderation.
In my opinion, either Chrono Cross or Final Fantasy X. I really liked the soundtracks for SSX3 and NBA Street Volume 2, but those soundtracks were just mix tapes.
Alan Wake, really? Did you watch the E3 gameplay from last year? It looks like a plain Silent Hill clone, and this game is 5+ years in the making. Take the floptasticness of Lair + Too Human and multiply that by infinity. That should give you an idea of the stink cloud that will form once this game finally hits store shelves.
Alan Wake has no business on that list. I wonder if they will add extra delay to the load times in the final version of the game to be consistent with how many times it has been delayed?
If I were a gangsta rapper, I would brag about paying fitty dolla a year on XBox Live between talking about how I drink 2 liters of Cristal and how I b rollin' in my Bentley Arnage wit da XBox 360 all up in da ride!. Seriously, $50 per yer isn't breaking my bank and I prefer Live over PSN. I use both. The End.
There is a pattern of overhyped titles that epic failed on the PS3
The PS3 online is OK, but i'm calling failure for PS3 home. In my opinion, they dumped a lot of time and resources into something that isn't going to draw anyone to the system.
I own a PS3. I have enjoyed a handful of good titles over the last couple of years, but I'm a little disappointed. Oh yeah, I had to LoL at the SW forum rules. This is the most overmoderated forum I have ever seen. If a similar set of rules were applied to the Oracle or IBM forums that I frequent for work, they would have to ban half of the users and content.
Blu-Ray hasn't turned out to be the system selling feature that sony thought it would be, and the launch lineup needed to be a lot better. They thought they would roll past the 360 quickly like they did to the sega dreamcast back in 2000. The dreamcast was already almost dead when the ps2 launched, so they were able to get away with an unimpressive launch lineup. "the power of teh cell" hasn't proven to be the advantage over the 360 cpu. The marketing people keep writing checks that the developers can't cash(psn home, lair, delay-delay-flop cycle). I own both systems and I would say they are about even at this time. Microsoft took advantage of their head start. As far as the Wii competing with the PS3 goes, I wouldn't even call them direct competitors. It sold for $250 out the door. The wii is going after a slightly different customer demographic. I still look at the success of the wii as a successful scam on Nintendo's part. 80% of the Wii library is poorly written crap that is just there to cash in on some toy, tv show, or movie license. As usual, the 1st party games are almost the only games worth buying. Just like "teh power of teh cell" I still don't see any games that take the wii-mote scheme beyond what was done with the wii sports pack in game. 80's - cabbage patch dolls, 90's - tickle me elmo, 00's - Nintendo Wii.

Going to school with a couple bright international students leads you to conclude that Americans are STUPID? All 1.3 billion chinese are certified geniuses and Americans are STUPID? Did anyone appreciate the irony of comparing the Japanese made PS3 to the Allies defeating the Axis in World War 2? Lazy minded generalizations that appeal to your emotion rather than logic......the opposite of FTW. Yeah, I was talking to a Russian mail order bride last week who was bragging about evaluating matrix determinants and triple integrals in her head at age 10......yeah, she was really happy to come across the pond to marry a UPS truck driver.....that, and getting into MENSA. I probably overdid it on the sarcasm, but enough is enough with the America bashing nonsense. I'm as guilty as the next guy with posting stupid crap here, but it's usually due to being impaired by some potent liquid. Actually, this forum is retarded, and the fact that I have been moderated so much for posting retarded crap on a forum full of retarded crap that is overmoderated to the nth power.......my mind just blew up. I will probably get moderated for either making too much sense or going off topic here. Full circle, I own both systems. I like them both. If I had to drop down to one, it would be the 360. I personally like the library and online features more.
My next game purchase was a toss up between Pure and LBP. I decided that a platformer starring Raggedy Anne and Andy just wasn't what I was looking for. Instead, I will be taking my virtual 4-wheeler off some sweet jumps!
