I would definately get a 4850 or 4870. 4870 is quite a bit better because the 4850 is held back by ddr3 ram, but it sure is a good deal for the price! http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/ati-radeon-hd4800-games_2.html#sect0 I would spend the extra $30 or so to get a 4870, but maybe I'm different haha. I'm going to wait until the dx11 cards go down in price before I pick one up. once I RMA my 4890, it should keep me happy for a while
if the sound blaster card came with a software cd, or you know where to find the drivers, they have a utility you can use to customize all your settings. just enable CMSS-3D and it should play through all speakers. I think it would be worth a try if you haven't yet tried that. good luck
does sound come out of all of them when you play a dvd? if so, it might just take some software configurations to make all of them work in a non-surround program like itunes. what soundcard are you using?
what speakers do you have? I have sort of old antec lansing 251 speakers, and I know most of the time, to be able to hear stuff come out of the rear speakers I have to enable CMSS-3D on my sound blaster card. before I had the card I had to go to the back of my sub and set it to 4 channel instead of 6.
I'm pretty sure I read a review about that fan saying it was louder than 19decibels. I don't remember for sure, but I'm pretty sure it is still pretty quiet for how much air it pushes. my front fan only pushes 63cfm but it is plenty IMO
