@Bellum_Sacrum I agree that games are important, but telling a lie like this one is something I as IT engineer can't overlook. If games were made for linux, I wouldn't have windows, justa saying :)

I'm a PC gamer, since none console exlusives draw me in. So I have no hate against console, I think they are good, but I still love my PC. BUT I call BS on this statement. You can never have console that is ahead of PC. And architecture, are they joking, it's x86 same architecutre that all processors on PC use, except the ones that use ARM, but they are mostly tablets.


After that Xbox One presentation I can see why they announced this statement.

@lfebaggins They have every right to "whine" SC2 had offline mode where you could play campaign and skirmish, WoW is an MMO. Diablo3 is not an MMO. It has SP and MP. And people who spent 60$ should be able to play SP without problems at least.

@Spawnblade :DI know how to emulate things silly, it only take so long for mmos because they are so big. D3 is not big. I can link you here a working "cracked" version of D3 in maximum of one month. And to answer you question... Those who are going to pirate this game are going to wait as long as it's needed... Because guess what, they wouldn't have bought the game anyway. Pirated games =! lost sales... they were never there to begin with. Sure some of them might buy, but I can bet that at least 80%of them would never have bought that game.

Let's face it DRM is sh*t, you can try and make exuses, I know I am when I get screwed over, and there will always be a crack" for that game.

@Lord_Jimbo I used that fact as an indication that even w/o DRM you can sell a lot of copies, and for Witcher 2 a game that isn't big IP and company that doesn't have even 1/10 of Blizz money and capacity managed to get that many sales. That is a success. They could have easily work multiplayer with real money auction house. SP char can't be used in multiplayer and multiplayer chars can't use SP shared storage.

I like how they use this to combat the piracy, when we all know that Skidrow is working on emulating server for Diablo3. And yes you can "crack" an MMO you just emulate server. Didn't (some of) you know that there a lot of WoW pirate servers? Their solution is just hurting legite owners of the game, not pirates.... Also here is an interesting fact Witcher 2 sold over 1.1 million copies only on PCs and it's DRM free and they released DLCs for free. That is how you treat your buyers, CDProjket is now what Blizz and Bioware used to be.

Piracy wouldn't be a problem, if games didn't cost so much. I know that 60$ isn't much for a number of people, but there are also a lot of people who can't or will not pay that much. I don't approve piracy, but you can see it this way, most people who pirated a game wouldn't buy it anyway. Also simple solution, just focus on making good games and people will buy it, meaning it needs to be fun, and it needs to be optimized. People are tired from consoles port, especially the bad ones. I for one am dissapointed in companies who forgotten PC as a platform, they just see it as a chance to make a nice $ :(

PC = RULES :D I mean how can you play a FPS or RTS with gamepad ??? :D it's nothing compared to PC :D but console have their advanteges.. like playing sports,, action adventure and etc.

Hm :) Why would the change anything......? Blizzzard and Bioware are the only one who can actually make a good game..... I think that most people will agree with me on this :) I can't wait for Starcraft 2 and Dibalo 3!!!!!!!!!!
