Try disconnecting the audio cable on your optical drive. You don't actually need it to play audio.Gregoroth

I installed a new cd/dvd rom combo drive and im having trouble. I hooked up the ide, audio and power connections and i am not getting sound when i play a dvd movie. I see the movie but no sound. I put a cd in and it played the sound just fine. It defaults to windows media (latest version). If anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it.

[QUOTE="Wesker776"]With that setup you're looking at medium to high settings at 1280x1024 for the next few years (as DX9 fades out). Very favourable purchase.

i totally agree, im currently running the system in my sig and it runs Rainbow Six Vegas, Counter Strike Source and Battlefield 2142 in high settings. Of course i only have a 19" monitor so im running 1280x1024. I'm waiting for the geforce 8600 revolution to happen. For a $100 gpu it is a steal and a great temporary card
