I KNEW this game would be awful. Very little details leading up to release made me suspicious. I thought it would at least be good enough for the story or characters or something.
@ivory_soul: That’s pretty dumb logic dude. That’s not a spoiler. Look up the definition and come back. A spoiler would be explaining the exact events. I’ve been writing reviews since 2007 and never once have I ever been told I’ve spoiled something. Also, “tear jerking” is subjective. Some people may not even think so.
@hulkamaniac805: What spoiler? I purposefully don't put spoilers in my reviews. I have no idea what you're talking about in the first paragraph. I never specified how the game ended. Just that it was tear-jerking, and that it was a really well done ending. That's not a spoiler. That's like saying "Star Wars has a really awesome ending. You won't be able to leave your seat!" How's that a spoiler?
@P00DGE: I have to agree. It's a FREAKING OPINION. If someone thinks it's a ten then let them think that. Someone's 10 might be an 8 for you. One of the biggest gripes I have about gaming in an age of the internet is people getting so bent out of shape from a review score. It literally doesn't matter. It's like if a game doesnt' get scored to their liking they can't sleep at night.
Coming from someone who has ZERO patience for Souls game (I've tried them all) I actually enjoy Elden Ring BECAUSE you can run from bosses and battles and come back. When you finally do it's the most satisfying feeling ever.
Also, I rarely have freezing issues. Using a 2080 setup and a 1660ti setup. Rare stutters. I think a lot of people have poorly optimized PCs. Not saying that's an excuse, but I'm sure it's some.
Why is everyone surprised this is a Souls game? It's literally from the developer's of Dark Souls, does anyone not know that? As someone who hates Souls games I actually took the risk and am having fun. The ease in difficulty is being able to run away from bosses and come back later when you're stronger. There is a main quest line to follow which are golden lines on the map, but you can wander around and level up your character how you see fit.
People are so used to Ubisoft open-world games with tons of icons and hand-holding that once a game comes out with actual freedom everyone cries for their mother. No one can be happy I guess.
@fraga500: Most people saying this game is bad either 1. Haven't played it like most gamers do when they complain...they never actually touch the game 2. Just focused on graphics and nothing else because the internet told them to do that.
@treechopper88: That's your opinion. It's not that bad. You're probably just focusing on the graphics like most gamers do and don't care about anything else.
@revengeance: Apples and oranges there bud. You can't compare Halo and Pokemon. They're two completely different games. Also, Halo is perfectly balanced. It's the only reason why the open-world idea worked. It was out of pure luck rather than by design. Halo already has balanced enemies, weapons, and overall gameplay. Just throw that into an open world and it was a no-brainer and kind of cheating. Halo already had large open areas in previous games, so why not just make it bigger? At least Infinite was better than any Far Cry game in the last decade. I also have to mention that Halo was revolutionary during the first two games. I pushed console shooters into PC territory and Halo 2 revolutionized console multiplayer as we know it today.
