Hows about the HD 4890 1GB it's 11 rank on the list and it's only $200. My GTX 260 if not the core 216 is 22 rank and if it is the core 216 it's 17 rank.

"why they're advertising it as a 1GB card though." I wish I had a power supply with a right cord to power this thing atm to see what's up

Does anybody else see a problem with this "GTX 260 1GB?" The GTX 260 was offered with either 896mb or memory, or 1792mb. With either memory size, the card uses a 448-bit memory bus. Now, unless Dell or some other company changed to either a 256-bit or a 512-bit memory bus, you can't have a 1GB GTX 260. You can't have 1GB of RAM on a 448-bit bus. It just doesn't work.

I see several possible explanations:

1) Dell is telling you the card has 1GB of memory, when it really has 896mb. I've seen other GTX 260's listed this way. After investigation, it turns out the cards really have 896mb of memory. I find this the most likely explantion.

2) Dell (or some other company they get parts from) has created a GTX 260 that has either an inferior 128-bit, 256-bit,, or a superior 512-bit bus (like the GTX 285/285). I find it highly unlikely that Dell would provide a unique, superior product.. so it would almost have to be the 256-bit bus. That would make this card perform worse than a standard GTX 260, as it would have the memory bandwidth of a GTS 250.

I would double-check with Dell to make sure of the EXACT specifications of this card that they want to give you. It will undoubtedly be far superior to the GT220 that you had before, but I'd still like to know more about this "GTX 260 1GB" card. I bet it's really an 896mb. Otherwise it's a bit crippled and running with more RAM on a much narrower bus.
