When I use Core Temp and Speed Fan to look at my CPU temperature, they both are about the same, but the BIOS shows it at about 20 degrees Celsius higher! What do I trust here?

the bios actually reads it that high yes i know its absurd. it says 120 degrees celsius/240 or so degrees F. so does that mean the bios could just be reading it wrong?

I'm trying to build a new computer but after i turn the power the bios shows the cpu temperature as going up to 120 degrees celsius! this is the second processor thats done this for me, and i applied thermal grease and installed the fan completely fine. i cant see where the problem could be. the cpu is a dual core 3.0 ghz intel and its on an nvida sli 780i motherboard. is it possible the motherboard is broken? or maybe even the bios is reading the temperature wrong? help please.

I think I am finally ready to upgrade my mobo, processor, video card and RAM, and I think I have found the right parts, thanks to Newegg. I just need some other people's opinions who probably have more computer experience than I do to double check me. Basically, I just need to know if these things will work together.

Motherboard- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813127003#spec

Processor- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103773

RAM- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220144

Video card- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150229

And one final question about hard drives, if I have an external hard drive, then do I even need an internal hard drive to run the computer? thanks.

im looking at completely upgrading my computer soon with a new motherboard, processor and video card. I think I have gotten some good stuff together but there are some basic questions i need answered before I buy. The first one is about the motherboard'smemory standard specification. It says that the memory standard is DDR2 800. All I need to know is if my 2 gigs of PC3200 will run on this motherboard. if they won't, then I guess it is time to get new memory as well. The other question I have is about the hard drive. I am not quite sure what hard drive I have right now, it came with the Dell Dimension 8300, I just don't know whether an old hard drive like that will run on a new motherboard. If I need to figure out what hard drive I have to answer that question, can someone tell me how to figure that out? Thanks, with these questions answered i will finally know whether I need to get even more stuff or not.

Lately with all the music pictures and videos in my computer, ive only had room for one new game at a time, so i thought i would geta new hard drive. If I added a new external hard drive to my computer, would the computer benefit from both it and my existing drive?, like if i already have a 150 or so GB drive, and i added a 250 GB drive, would my C drive say i had 400GB? or just 250? thats basically my only question, as nothing seems to answer it. thanks
