I don't understand that, it's distracting from a readers standpoint and seems lazy from the artist's stand point. I mean there is a difference between simplistic and ugly, making it ugly for a laugh should only last may a strip o a month, after that the joke tires and it becomes a nuisance to the eyes. I'm surprised the artist has yet to update the art, most comics go through numerous styles after recieving feedback. Perhaps I'm in the minority though and his readers enjoy that style.

penny-arcade.com - Most obivous and well know video-game web comic. I find it's always timely, the characters are great, the art is fantastic, it's very funny, and these guys are actual gamers with brains.

ctrlaltdel-online.com - Another great videogame comic, good style and art work, the comedy feels a little hit or miss at times. Also ocassionaly the comic gets wrapped up in a storyline that spans a few weeks this can be irritating if said storyline is not that great.

gucomics.com - I love the art-style of the characters, the jokes are pretty good too, sometimes they may take you a while to get. But the style is really what I like about his comic.

duelinganalogs.com - Again beautifully illustrated, very current with the industry and games, sometimes not that funny but informative.

Other comics that aren't video game related

pbfcomics- The art is unbelievable the jokes are extremely clever and very funny. I urge you to find a non-funny comic here...

explosm.net/comics (Cyanide and Happiness) - Art work seems so simplistic but it works so well with the humor. The humor is often dark, but very clever and really will make you laugh out loud.
