wooh a 50c disk and case yeah really worth a lot, dd games have something called digital manuals. When you buy a physics disk all you are buying is the licence to play the game, all the data is still owned by sony or whoever. I don't see how a physics copy of assassins creed has any more value than a digital copy when they both rely on ubi's servers to run and ubi can render both version useless whenever they please. physics copies really don't have any value either. you can't resell online pc games since they key is locked to accounts, console games are now starting to offer keys in new versions once used can't be used again costing the gamer an extra $20 or so when buying used to get all the content. Like it or not dd is they future and is better in every way. no stupid disks to put in just to play, no cases wasting space, no cases that end up in the landfill after 1 year or so, no more wrecked scratched disks. imprezawrx500
i couldn't disagree more. a physical copy of a game has more value precisely because it's a physical copy. on top of the license to play the game, you also have the opportunity to resell the game, albeit at a much lower price than you paid for it. there are still plenty of used console games on the market, so there is still a market to buy used games from previous buyers. also, just having the case is nice. unlike DD, you can usually take a disk with you to play on a different console, wheras with DD you need to go through the hassle of downloading again to play on another console/pc, and that's assuming the game even allows you to do that.
the simple fact is that a physical copy is worth more than a license to download and play a game because you can do more with it. if games become entirely DD, i'd be fine with that, but i would not be willing to pay the same amount for the content.
