@justerthought: I say Sony was more success about exclusive games every year Sony had a nominee for game of the year while Microsoft is a rich company. They could constitute more studios to produce more exclusive games for themselves.
Xbox tries to offer a better gameplay you mean PS doesn't do it?! If PS games had just graphics they wouldn't become GOTY nominee because the main reason to choose a game for GOTY nominee is outstanding gameplay not only graphics.
@lram45: Yes player's opinion is the most important opinion there's no doubt about it but there should be a resource to guide gamers to make better choices. Every game costs $50 so what should a gamer do before purchasing a game? Make decision only by some 2-3min trailer or some critics who played the game for several hours? I don't mean Meta is the one and only source to decide what game should we buy I mean Meta is a good place to know more about games and HELP us to choose better games perhaps we don't agree with their opinion after playing the game and perhaps we do but in my learned experience 'most' of them are true.
I remember when Gamespot gave a 10/10 to Metal Gear Solid 4 in the past generation which was a PlayStation exclusive so we see that legacy again. Xbox exclusives never had a complete score from Gamespot.
And finally it is good to say that Sony has published more than 10 exclusive games with 90+ metascore in a row since 2008:
