IMO vinyl records are extremly pretentious, at least where I live they are worth at least twice the price of a normal CD (lots of times much more). I really don't understand why would anyone get a vinyl record. The extras are usually pretty crappy and I'm pretty sure that people who say the sound is better are just saying that because they want to compensate what they paid for something that isn't worth it. I think guys who "analyze" sound quality are usually just the guys who buy monster cables for $100 when they can get the exact same thing for $10
