Last June, I had no next gen consoles but had just inherited some cash and the time had come to make a decision about next gen consoles. I was going to get a PS3 but they're just too expensive. I think Sony would still have had a clear path to victory had Microsoft not established Xbox 360 as what it is in November 2005, way before PS3's eventually decided release date of March 2007. I plumped for the 360 and I am not disappointed. I have seen video footage of PS3 games like Metal Gear, and I have played Gears of War on the Xbox, and while there may be some technical differences to the naked eye the graphics are very evenly matched and Xbox Live online features are incredible and I think the most Sony can hope for is a tie in this department. A price reduction or a couple of [decent] pack in games are needed to make the PS3 worth buying.
