@Rusty2004 I still want at least 24" monitor, and a CRT (if there are 24" CRT monitors out there) would just be massive on my desk so it is out of the question for me. I will just wait until 24" LCD come out at 120Hz and have a "reasonable" price tag.
I really want a pair of these glasses. Only problem is my 24" monitor has a max of 60hz. I will have to upgrade my monitor for the glasses to work, which i'm not prepaired to do at the moment. Shame really as I'm starting to get a little bored of gaming after 20 years of playing. 3D is just what's needed to get me excited about gaming again.
Well its no surprise that the PC versions have far superior graphics. What is surprising is that the PS3 versions look worse than the 360 being as the PS3 is technically superior machine.
Just have to thanks to all you guys on the Orange box team for giving us the best gaming experience ever. The highlight for me is Portal, a totally unexpected and refreshing change to the current crop of games that we see on the market. I got the box through Steam so I play this on my PC the way it is meant. I am also glad 360 owners have had the chance to experience these great games.
One of the best things you can do to improve game performance is to use XP and not Vista. I have a duel boot and the game playes at an average of 36fps in XP and 24fps in Vista. Thats with everything set to maximum at 1900x1200.
@Agermemnom 1700 notes for a gaming rig without a monitor don't be daft. You can get a high end setup for far less than that! Really I have heard it all now. You can even use a "HDTV" with the PC with the DVI connection that should save you a few coins lol. Back on subject. I have played Bioshock on my PC with the 360 controller, and keyboard and mouse and can tell you all that it is a much more enjoyable experience using the keyboard and mouse. The controller feels very clumsy. I have also hooked my PC up to my 720p HD projector on a 92" screen. This was the only time I found the controller better purely because I could sit further back from the screen. Now all I need to do is find a way that allows me to use a keyboard and mouse on my sofa and I can ditch the controller.
LOL. The 360 is a false economy when you take into account that you need to buy a HD TV, surround sound setup and more expensive games. For the same price you could get a better PC setup with bigger hard drive etc. Oh and if you like controllers you can even plug in a 360 controller if you want. Even the 360 HD drive just plugs straight into the PC no problem if thats what you want! The PC is a no brainer in my opinion, and has already surppased the 360 in the graphics department. If you can't afford a top of the range PC, wait until you leave school and get a job, then save up like everyone else.
