@Namo666 Absolutely agree. Many of the good friends I have now I would have never met if it hadn't been for video games. To think of everything I would have missed out on had I never met those people is insane

@megakick Things are different for everyone. I had mild depression and huge social anxiety after things crashed between me and my fiance several years ago. WoW actually really helped. I think it was actually the "it's not real" part that helped me - the people I was talking to might have been real people, but all I saw was an avatar. I was able to socialize much easier with them, and over time my social anxiety went away. Several of those people have become the best friends I've ever had, we still talk and meet up each year to this day, even though none of us play WoW anymore

@petez34 Even the head person of Maxis said the poor reviews due to server issues were fair. Like qewretrytuyiuoi said, if the servers are a REQUIRED part of the game, and they're not working, then scoring low because of that is fair game. Kevin did say in his review that if it wasn't for the server issues, SimCity would be a great game, but sadly, the server issues kept many people from enjoying the game, and as such, the game's score suffered.

@Suikogaiden That's pretty much along the lines of what the FBI profiler said yesterday. She said they only consider violent video games a factor if it is evident that the person who committed the crime used the game in some way that related to the crime, ie what type of weapons to use, how to pick victims, etc. So, like you said, someone who's goal was clearly to commit an act of violence

@Poodlejumper That depends on who you think it is. Their video game label is Deep Silver, which produced Dead Island, so take that as you will

@endorbr @Logixyz I'd say that unless they're just a conquering species that chooses to enslave every population they meet, if they have the technology to get here, they probably have the technology for automated resource gathering, and can do it with virtually no manual labour. But that just might be my pipe dream.

@tightwad34 @carolynmichelle Streaming means essentially that it's playing while downloading to a temporary location. Anytime you watch a video on YouTube, you're streaming it - it's downloading the information, but it's not saving it. If you ever gotten the dreaded "buffering" whilst watching a video, that means you're getting a slow stream, either from your internet or from the server

@HowlingLotus Well, the thing about that is that Borderlands didn't have much steam coming out of the gate. It really wasn't until its first or second DLC that word of mouth really started getting around - hence the reason most people waited, as by that point they had already announced a GOTY edition. May want to make sure that those same people haven't already pre-ordered Borderlands 2 - don't want to be left out on Sept. 18

@wavelength121 Sanctuary's a city on Pandora. So, in essence, both are correct, as Sanctuary is visited pretty early on.
