And Feb. isn't over for the PC's yet.  Though SupCom got a lot more hype, the real ringer in the PC arena is the Dark Avatar (full name is Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar).  This is an expansion pack for GC2, which got 9.0 here at Gamespot.  By all accounts it takes the original games (which was great) and improves EVERY SINGLE ASPECT of it.  Graphics, AI, tech trees, ship design, etc.  Of course like all indie, niche title GS is taking their time to review it.  IGN and Gamespy, however, are not as slow and have already scored it 9.0 and 5/5 respectively.

I predict high AA at least, and if it weren't for some hidden taboo about expansion packs scoring higher then their original games, I'd say AAA.

Good for you. I'm just glad I don't have to buy new parts for my 360 all of the time....Shrapnel99

Funny, but Supreme Commander is the only game on the list that you shouldn't run with 512 RAM, a 5700, and a single core processor.  "Teh upgrades!" argument really only applies to a very narrow selection of games, and there are plenty of great games STILL coming out today that play just fine on dated hardware.  So, try again.

With the addition of Supreme Commander I decided to update my list of PC games scoring above 7.0.  Behold!

Check the link in my sig if you want to see the 2006 list. It easily out sized the Xbox360.

AAA:

AA:

A:

(note, some games lack box art and instead have screenshots, those are Sam and Max Episodes)

MIA (released but no GS review):

, 9.0 at IGN and 5/5 at Gamespy.

Do you think they make a 360 version! :D

PS3_3DO

No, and even if they did it would be sort of like the handheld version.  I messed around with the demo, and I have to say trying to play this game with out a mouse, assignable hotkeys, and a scroll wheel would be like trying to play most console games with analog sticks.  Unlike say Total War where the individual units all come in preassigned groups, each individual unit comes independent and needs to be given direction.  That means drag boxes, double click to select all of same type, etc.  Plus, you need a quick scroll to zoom back and observe the big picture.

then Crysis is definitely possible on the 360.  Graphics will just get better on the 360, and may eventually even surpass Crysis graphics by a good margin.

On the other hand, the PS3 could probably never handle Crysis graphics or even GeOW graphics.

Baloney.  You seem to not understand how consoles work.  There is no "improvement" over time, just slight tweaks here and there to make commands run faster.  GeOW has been in development for as long as there was an iota of information available about the 360.  There aren't that many tweaks left to go around.  Any further "improvement" in graphics is going to come at a price elsewhere.  That is usually paid in longer load times, smaller environments, reduced clip distances, less complex AI, simpler shadows, etc.  And unlike the Xbox, the 360 needs to run at high resolutions meaning one can't get that traditional boost when switching from PC to console.  As for the PS3, I think its further ahead then the 360 was released.

I rarely see it discussed here, and Gamespot editors seem to have ignored its existence even as it reviews individual retro releases for the Wii and 360.  Guess what, Gametap absolutely crushes those services with 2 ton mallet of +4 damage.  Currently, this service offers 822 games.  This includes arcade classics like Pacman and Joust, it includes a lot of early console games like Castlevania and what must be a dozen Sonic games.  Then, it even includes relatively recent Windows games like Far Cry, Beyond Good and Evil, or all the Serious Sam games.  Now, Gametap is offering original games not seen on any other platform, such as the new Sam and Max Episodes.  This is the real deal.  Then, its all wrapped up into one very user friendly and snazzy interface, which also lets you watch music videos or little animated shorts while waiting for some of the bigger games to download.  Every game has instructions to play right next to the download now button.

What is the cost of this you might ask?  Not $5 a game, like some other people charge, but $10 a month for EVERYTHING.  That drops down to even less when you purchase for 6 months or a year.  Busy a month?  No problem, its cancel anytime.  Now excuse me, I have to go beat Mental.

There is plenty, plenty I say, of things that can "go wrong" with Mass Effect.  Bioware is a master at generating hype for games while leaving potential flaws hidden.  The biggest issue I see ME having is simply content.  How big will the game actually be?  They hint at some sort of giant universe for you to explore, but I get the feeling the game will still be beatable in 20 hours or less, as Bioware's games have gotten progressively shorter since Baldur's Gate 2.

Oh, and the new dialogue system is big step back for RPGs, from what I read.

Oh, I can't believe I forgot about this one, Dark Avatar.  Its an expansion for last year's AAA Galactic Civilizations II.  Can't wait to try out the demo (I think there'll be a demo, if delayed) for it.

These are what I'm eyeing right now.

Maybe these games are not for everyone, but certainly not for consoles!

I kept track of all the exclusives released to the PC with a score over 7.0 last year.  Check the link in my sig if you want to see it.  It was easily out sized the Xbox360.  This is the first compilation I've made for 2007.  It's not very big yet, but I've got to start somewhere, and a recent AAA exclusive is as good a reason as any.

AAA:

AA:

A:

(note, some games lack box art and instead have screenshots, those are Sam and Max Episodes)

Like I said, not a lot, but not a lot has been released period.  Compared this to the Xbox360 and you'll that platform only has two original games released for it and reviewed so far.

Also, another very hyped PC exclusive is due out this month, Supreme Commander.  Its a spiritual successor to legendary RTS Total Annihilation and in fact is made by the same head developer.  Feel free to hype it, I'm going to guess Mid AA.
