@EL_Bomberdor @gilldominic Well, in my opinion games like Naughty Dog's efforts have their potential size and scope shrunk to allow for the "next-gen" graphics.

The smaller the game area, the better you can make it after all.

I think that TLOU may prove to be an example of the pinnacle that the current gen consoles can reach.

Perhaps a year or two ago it would have got a 9 or higher.

However I feel that the hardware limitations of the current gen are notably hampering games now:

In my opinion we have seen a massive stagnation in AI quality in games of late and while graphically TLOU may well be the best PS3 game, the reality is that PC games and the fast approaching next-gen are/will be far superior.

Should a game get praised for graphics because it's getting the most out of a now limited console, or praised for having genuinely ground breaking visuals?

This goes also for level design and the general scope of many games also; I get a real sense in many recent games that the levels could have been much more expansive and interesting, but simply wouldn't have run on the current gen consoles.....

@Gomtor @4nationfury
If you continue to reinforce the ridiculous notion that "girls don't play boy games" then it is harder to escape it.

If the industry fails to even consider female audiences (even if they then want to ignore those opinions!?) then again, it becomes so much harder to escape the antiquated thinking the games industry is trapped in.
