So they closed studios that make actual good video games to open a move-game studio?

The collection of talent sounds promising though. I guess we'll see what they cook up in 5-7 years

You don't write a business strategy without a few what iffs, that doesn't mean it's a new strategy.

according to @ghostofgolden, twitter users' opinions are supposed to be processed as facts..

meanwhile, he completely ignores actual reality.. he's cheerleading for PlayStation while ignoring the facts that they've also had huge layoffs, also have closed studios, and are the only major player not releasing any 1st party games from their internal studios this year..

all that's fine because.. ... ... reasons.. 🙄

at the end of the day, "Xbox bad".. that's all that his brain can comprehend these days..

LMAO! Yes, Jeff Gerstmann is just some random Twitter user...

Math and accounting are now, "tired fanboy nonsense"?!?! LOL

And where did I cheerlead PlayStation? Please show me. Stating that PlayStation revenue > Xbox+Bethesda+Activision+$1.5Billion is factually true. Then again it involves financials which have become "tired fanboy nonsense"

My goodness this spin is getting intense lol

What ifs like "What if we pull COD from day one Game Pass?" "What if we put 4 games on PlayStation for now and see what happens?" "What if we opened a mobile store that's actually just a website with links to existing app stores?" Every few days there's something new. Xbox doesn't have a business strategy at this point. They are flailing around praying that something, ANYTHING will stick with consumers. And here we thought "TV TV TV" was the business strategy to do Xbox in... Phil wishes he had the problems Xbox had in those days...

they shouldn't have to. if they did it sony way bringing games to ps plus year later game sales on xbox would of made there money without putting there games on the competitors console. which = more xbox console sales. gamers need competition for each console.

if not they will just become lazy like ps3 and 360 error. ps3 had to wake up and make better games last few years of its life. then 360 they got lazy at end of its life cycle and let all there first party go and had xbox one launch disaster.

it's just the current reality.. as stated by the CEO of Sony, PlayStation's future is on console, PC, cloud, and mobile..

limiting games to one plastic box just isn't the way to do business moving forward..

[same tired fanboy nonsense]

translation: "b bu but"..

Xbox's "losing strategy" is so bad that Sony's CEO is basically quoting their strategy as the future of PlayStation, word-for-word..

as a reminder, Xbox is #1 in monthly-active-users and #2 in gaming revenue.. plain and simple facts.. Xbox actually has multiple major releases planned for this year while PlayStation has conceded they don't have anything from thier internal studios until after March 2025.. another plain and simple fact..

the facts simply do not support your fanboy narratives..

🤣😂🤣😂

Xbox+Bethesda+Activision= $1.5Billion less in Q4 than the company with no games until after March 2025. Another plain and simple fact 😂🤣😂🤣

Then factor in all the money Xbox spent to cook their terrible books with former 3rd party revenue and the numbers start turning red 😬🤭

Now they’re selling games on competitors platforms, not out of the goodness of their hearts, but because Daddy Microsoft started looking at the bank statements. Shutting down studios. Changing the strategy AGAIN. All while Nintendo made more profits this gen than they did in over 25 years COMBINED.

And you have the nerve to come in here talking about winning and losing strategies?!😂🤣😂🤣

And yet Xbox is in the position they’re in right now because of their console sales. Game Pass growth has been directly tied to console growth. Game Pass on PC has largely been a dud as has Cloud gaming. And as Jeff Gerstmann detailed in his most recent podcast, (47:20) 3rd party publishers are coming to Xbox asking what the hell is going on with 3rd party game sales. Xbox has created this “I’m not gonna buy any games, I’ll just wait for it to come to Game Pass” consumer. And now 3rd parties are looking at the balance sheet and wondering if developing on Xbox is worth it… So now we have a stalled subscription service, awful hardware sales AND worse 1st and 3rd party software sales.

7 years in, and you’re still speaking about “the future” and the potential of a service that we have nearly a decade of data on. Xbox has had to flip their business model upside down to compensate for it. And their future isn’t any more certain than it was when the service started.

@saint-george: Digging through Cows posts is like digging in the sewer. There’s no fun to be had with any of that.

And isn’t their argument that the games aren’t coming to PC day 1? And even then, looking at the sales numbers of PS games on PC I’m not sure Sony would recoup the cost of the PC ports. Outside of the first Horizon game, the sales performance on PC has been meh at best. PC gamers and console gamers spend their money differently. It would be foolish to assume everything is gonna perform like Helldivers 2 did.

Sony Shlong slurper confirmed.

i know right..

the "financials guy" is making an argument against Day One PC support for PlayStation games when (outside of fanboy logic) that is a clear way to increase software sales in a separate and growing market.. it's a plain and simple fact that games sell best during the launch and marketing hype..

spoken like a true cow.. 🐄

Lmao! Like you know anything about financials and growing a brand. EVERYTHING you‘ve said was gonna grow Xbox has failed. You parrot Xbox talking points. Talking points that change every quarter as Xbox misses their targets.

The guy that fanboys for the 3rd place company is trying to tell us how to run a successful business. 😂🤣😂🤣🤡. You can’t make this stuff up

so you still can't point to where Phil Spencer said those 4 games will be the only games coming to other platforms and no other games would be considered..

you're just going to deflect..

and ah i see "revenue wars" is back.. that means Xbox is #2 and Nintendo is in last place with a losing strategy..

Thanks Phil!!..

2nd in revenue wars but a distant 3rd in profit margin wars. The saying is supposed to be, “You gotta spend money to make money.” Xbox is spending money to lose money 🤣😂. Activision was in the red🤣😂. Phil spent so much money that his bosses are now calling the shots. 🤣😂. But Game Pass is gonna save the day right? Activision is gonna make them a revenue contender with PlayStation right? Right?! 🤣😂

The narratives continue to fall like dominoes

Phil Spencer said Starfield and Indiana Jones aren't part of these four games. @ghostofgolden said then let's see how long that last. And maybe it will last half a year. Xbox is going 3rd party FULLY on competitive platforms like PlayStation and Switch, THAT IS NOT A FUD. Xbox is surely getting out of console hardware business for good. THAT IS NOT A FUD. You, Xbots, claimed that MS can afford losses and they have money. LOL

Btw. all good for Xbots. All good. It is coming, holiday is a 6 months away :

Very gracious of Phil Spencer and Xbox to support the launch of the PS5 pro this holiday season. Lol.

you don't even know the context of the conversations you are replying to..

just like you don't know what a gaming platform is..

I enjoy looking back at previous threads where you draw such hard lines in the sand, and then compare them to your current opinions. Opinions that change as the Xbox strategy changes 😂

We also get gems like, “Phil was saying that the extra revenue from sales of small games like HiFi Rush can be beneficial to those specific studios.. that extra 70% from additional sales to those massive install bases of gamers on PlayStation and Nintendo could help fund a HiFi Rush 2..”

You’d think your defense of Phil Spencer would have been negatively impacted by now, but you’ve proven to be a loyal Xbox soldier. 🫡.They spent $70 billion just to lose to PlayStation by $1.5 billion every quarter… They strategy is working like a charm 😂🤣😂🤣🫡

I don't know how one gets excited for a sports game.

Being a sports fan helps

Considering how every sports game is just a microtransaction store sold to you for $70, i don't really see your point. Every developer in charge of making sports games do it to abuse its fans, not to release the best possible product for folks to enjoy.

Sports fans are no strangers to spending money. They spend $200 on tickets to go to a game in their $120 jersey. Spend $30 on parking and buy $12 beers and $10 hotdogs. You think an annual $70 purchase and a few $5 loot boxes is gonna scare them off? Not everybody is allergic to spending money like gamers are
