I was wrong about ET being unbeatable, but that doesn't change the fact that it was a huge failure and tons ended up in a landfill.

You guys sure do choose some good games to call "Biggest gaming fail of all time". As much as I disliked MGS4 convoluted story, and GTA4 minor downgrades they were at least playable games from start to finish. I would choose off the top of my head ET for the Atari. Now thats failure in gaming. A game that cannot be beaten (at least to my knowledge).

Keys ran out almost immediately. Go ahead and check to be sure, but they were gone in a matter of an hour.
